Eileen Spencer Services: Friday, June 20, 2:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., for F. Eileen Spencer, 77, who passed away June 16, 2003. Her nephew Rev. David A. Baker of Tulsa, OK, will officiate. Mrs. Spencer was born in Countyline, Oklahoma, on November 6, 1925, to Obie D. and Margaret G. Norton. She was one of eight children. Eileen grew up in hard times in the country on a farm. She married Garland F. Spencer at the young age of 17, on July 10, 1943. Times were hard in Oklahoma and in 1946 after having her only child Martha, the family moved to Bakersfield where her husband went to work at Western Oilfield Supply Company, retiring after 38 years. Eileen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. She loved quilting and spending time with her family and granddaughter, Kari Paaren with whom she attended many Special Olympics, Saturday movies and many shopping sprees. She affected many lives and will truly be missed. July 10th would have been their 60th wedding anniversary. She leaves behind her husband, Garland; daughter and son-in-law, Arlin and Marty Fletcher; granddaughter, Kari Paaren; sister, Ellen Hearon; brothers, Obie and Vance Norton all of Oklahoma; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics. Tears we are shedding, Joy you will be spreading. We love you Mother. Save us a spot in Heaven.
