"Skip" Shiffer, 57, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, in Fort Worth. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Friday at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 6055 Azle Avenue. A memorial Eucharist will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Episcopal Church in Duncan, Okla. Committal: His remains will be placed in the columbarium at All Saints Episcopal Church. Memorials: American Cancer Society, 3301 West Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Mr. Shiffer was born in Dallas and spent much of his early childhood in Texarkana where his father was mayor. He also lived in Chicago, Ill., Detroit, Mich., and settled in Ardmore, Okla., where he graduated from high school in 1966. He graduated from Oklahoma City University in 1978 and earned his master's degree from East Central University in Ada, Okla., in 1996. "Skip" married Deborah L. Edwards on Dec. 30, 1978, in Duncan, Okla., and they have resided in this area since 1998. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, cycling or motorcycling and keeping up with national political issues. He was preceded in death by a niece, Mary Middleton. Survivors: Wife, Deborah Edwards Shiffer; sister, Ann Middleton, her husband, Brad, and son, Mark, of Duncan, Okla.; mother-in-law, Norma Edwards of Duncan; brother-in-law, John Edwards, his wife, Jan, of Duncan, and sons, Jeff Edwards of Shawnee, Okla., U.S. Air Force Lt. Jason Edwards and his wife, Alisha Edwards, of San Antonio; brother- in-law, Jim Edwards, his wife, Mary Jane, and children, Cindy Hicks, her husband Joe, and their children, Avery and Tyler Hicks, all of Duncan, and Jamie and David Crews of Oklahoma City.
