All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Duncan Banner 23 Sep 2002 Sisk, Cleo Mary Cleo Mary Sisk, 95, of Duncan died Friday, Sept. 20, 2002, in Duncan Regional Hospital. Service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Jody Hilliard officiating. Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home. Mrs. Sisk was born Sept. 2, 1907, in Cove, Ark., to J.W. and Ovie Barton Kesser. The family moved to Tuscaloosa, Ala., when she was 10 years old. Two years later, they moved to Columbus, Miss., where she attended First Baptist Church, sang in the choir and was converted and joined the church. In 1925, the family moved to Muskogee. She married Hugh Sisk on Dec. 16, 1925. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1965. In 1937, they were blessed with a baby boy, Jimmie Hugh Sisk, who for the past seven years has lived with and cared for his mother. Mrs. Sisk worked for 18 years at the Lindley Hospital and Duncan Regional Hospital as a nurse. She loved people, to do for others and to help the sick. She especially cared for children. She was a member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for 40 years. She worshipped and loved the Lord and the Bible. Survivors include a son, James \ldblquote Jim\rdblquote Sisk of Duncan; a grandson, James David Sisk of Birmingham, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Exie Thrasher, and a brother, Max Kessler. Bearers will be Steve Streich, Rick Bishop, Glen Mullens, J.R.
