Shotts 83, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at the V. A. Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2003, at the Church of Christ with Alan Eck and Cliff Werhan officiating. Burial was held at the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs. Born April 29, 1919, to Dewey and Zelma (Smith) Shotts in Rush Springs, he had lived in the Rush Springs area all his life. Shotts attended Richland Schools, and was a member of the Church of Christ and was retired from farming and ranching. On October 5, 1940, he married Lelia Mae Curtis in Rush Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors in addition to his wife Lelia of the home, include a son and a daughter-in-law Kevin and Lanette of Rush Springs; a grandson Nathan Shotts of Rush Springs; a brother “G.D.” Lonnie Shotts of Ardmore; a sister Laverne Bishop of Cedar Rapids, IA; and several aunts and uncles. Serving as pallbearers were Kenny Blades; Mike Blades; Gene Blades; Jo Kuntz; and Robert Kuntz.
