All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Duncan City Cemetery--Duncan OK Duncan Banner 04 May 2003 Flora Reda Stewart Service for Flora Reda Stewart, 89, of Duncan, who died Friday, May 2, 2003, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, at the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Craig Christina officiating. Burial will be at Duncan City Cemetery. She was born Nov. 8, 1913, in Reed, to William T. and Frances Mitchell Buckner Taylor. Reda was raised in Mangum, with three brothers, and graduated at age 16 as valedictorian from Mangum High School in 1930. Her life was dedicated to her family and church. She played piano for First Baptist Church in Mangum from 1929 until 1949. After moving to Norman, she taught a Ladies Sunday school class at that city's First Baptist Church, from 1952 until 1992, at which time she moved to Duncan and joined First Baptist Church here. Her work was her home where, in the words of Proverbs, "her children rise up and call her blessed" and "her husband praises her, saying you surpass them all." Flora Reda Taylor married William M. Stewart on April 21, 1932, in Greer County. The last 10 years in Duncan have been good, with many family meals, reunions and holiday celebrations. Reda and Bill celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on April 21, 2003. Survivors include her husband, of the home; daughter,Ann Routh and her husband, Jack, of Tulsa; two sons, Dr. Bill Stewart, Joe Stewart and his wife, Patti, all of Duncan; seven grandchildren, Jeff Cleaver, Susan Schooley, Julie Mullins, Amy Miller, Shelley Stewart, Will Stewart, Abbie Stewart; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, James Stewart, on March 27, 2000.
