"Buck" Solley, 79, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2004 at Convenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. Mr. Solley's services were held at 2:P.M. Thursday, May 27, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church in Seagraves, TX. Rev. Jim Currie officiated and interment was at the Gaines County Cemetery in Seagraves. Mr. Solley was born on April 26, 1925 to Marion Oad and Rosie Myrtle (Kerley) Solley in Marlow, OK where he attended school. He enlisted in the United States Army Dec. 28, 1944 and received his Honorable Discharge on March 17, 1946. Mr. Solley served as a Military Policeman and was a Rifle Sharpshooter. He also received the Good Conduct Medal. On Dec 7, 1946, he married the love of his life, Mary juanita Osborne, in Duncan, OK. They moved to Seagraves in 1956 where he worked for Old Oil Developement Co. which became Santa Fe Energy. He retired after 39 years of service as District Production Superintendent for their entire operation in the Permanian Basin. Mr. Solley leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Juanita, of the home; one daughter, Karen Suzanne Solley Strube of Garland; one grandson, Michael Scot Strube; two brothers, Bob Solley of Dublin, TX and Duane Solley of Peoria, IL; and two sisters, Anne Bearden of Colorado Springs, CO and Lavern Beene of Porterville, CA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Leda Mae Singleterry, and a brother, William Thomas Solley. Pallbearers were Santa Fe Energy Employees and Dairy Queen Coffee Group. Submitted by Mrs. O.D.
