Sleeper Glen Joseph Sleeper of 104 1/2 W. Nabor died Thursday, May 1 at 1:30 p.m. at a Duncan hospital. He was 77 years old. Graveside services were held Saturday, May 3 at 10.30 a.m. followed by burial in Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Leonard Ray Sleeper of Royce City, Texas officiated. Born March 7, 1909 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, Sleeper had resided in Marlow for the past two weeks, previously living in Royce City, Texas. He was a retired steeple jack and member of Emery Street Baptist Church in Hot Springs. He was married December 3, 1944 in Michigan to Evelyn May Shepherd. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn May Sleeper of the home; four sons, James Warner of Elgin, Illinois, Dallas Sleeper and Daniel Sleeper, both of Lawton and Joe Sleeper of the home in Marlow; four daughters, Loretta Ebright and Melba Myers, both of Columbus, Ohio, Kathryn Sleeper of Royce City, Texas and Violet Arnold of Waterloo, New York; two brothers, Leonard Ray Sleeper of Royce City, Texas and Otis Sleeper of California; three sisters, Frances Turner of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Helen Blaylock of Lake Orion, Michigan and a sister residing in California.
