All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Elgin Memorial Lawn Cemetery--Elgin OK Comanche County Chronicle *Ima Lee Smith Written by: Becker Funeral Home, Fletcher June 13, 1919 - January 14, 2005 Funeral service for former Elgin resident Ima Lee Smith, 85, Duncan, was at 2:00pm Tuesday, January 18 in the First Baptist Church Elgin, with Rev. Kris Lamle, pastor officiating. Mrs. Smith died Friday in a Duncan hospital. Burial was in the Elgin Memorial Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher (formerly Robbins Funeral Home). She was born June 13, 1919 in Quitman, TX to Charlie Alexander and Lona Lee Deuson. She married Finis P. Smith on December 9, 1941 in Fletcher, OK. He died January 12, 1981. In the late 40', early 50's she owned Elgin Café, now Trivet's Restaurant. She and her husband, Finis, owned and operated Smith's Garage in Elgin for 35 years. After his death, she leased it to the Barnett's. Mrs. Smith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Elgin and was a member of the order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include three children: Judy M. Boozer, Fred M. Smith, Larenda L. Clark and her husband Terry L. Clark, all of Duncan, OK. Seven grandchildren: Ralynda K. Wiersema and husband Billie Jr., Fletcher, OK; Melissa R. Dalston and husband Eros of Comanche, OK; Cara Anne Adams and husband Will of Elgin, OK; Richard P Smith, Lawton, OK; Jessica L. Lewis and husband Grant, Wichita, KS; Jennifer S. Clark and boyfriend Charlie Brimm, Lawton, OK; Laura E. Clark and fiancé Matt Jennings, Duncan, OK. Seven great grandchildren: Drew L. Wiersema and Lacey M. Wiersema, Fletcher, OK; Wayde G. Morris and Charles "Alex"ander Adams, Elgin, OK; Zachary D. Dalston and Ashley N. Dalston, Comanche, OK; and Levi Dee Brimm, Lawton, OK. Several nieces, nephews, sister and brother in-laws and other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
