"Bill" Sharp, a longtime Duncan resident, born Dec. 15, 1921 in Grady County to Robert E. and Mertie Morgan Sharp, died Jan. 14, 2001 in Shamrock TX at the age of 79. He married Bessie Winters on May 13, 1944 in Ringling. To this union two children were born. He served in the U.S. Army and worked for Coca Cola for many years. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Diana and Paul Hammon of Healdton; two brothers and sisters-in-law Bradley and Ruthie Sharp of Wapanucka and Emmitt and Marie Sharp of Shamrock, five grandchildren, Shelly Beardon of Healdton, Staci Bento of Tulsa, Starla Cunningham of Lone Grove, Kimberly Sharp and Jonathan Sharp, both of Weatherford TX, seven great grandchildren Chance Bearden, Nic Bearden, Conner Benton, Barrett Benton, Bailey Benton, Morgan Cunningham, and Jack Cunningham, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, a brother and a sister. Services were held in the Bailes-Polk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Bernard officiating.
