Duncan OK., ========= Henry Custer Sharp: Long-time Marlow resident Henry Custer Sharp, 90, died at his home Monday, Nov. 22, 1999. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at the Callaway- Smith-Cobb Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. J. V. Lobaugh officiating. Burial was in the Marlow Cemetery. He was born to James Alphus and Donie Brewer Sharp in Motley County, Texas, on May 24, 1909. He attended school in Memphis, Texas. A Marlow resident since 1943, Sharp was a retired carpenter and a 50-year member of Woodmen of the World. He and the former Ivus White were married in Pike County, Ark on Aug. 15, 1929. She died on Nov. 16, 1992. He also was preceeded in death by his parents, two brothers, Wesley Sharp and an infant brother, a sister Ocie Sharp, and a son-in-law, Walter Adkins. Survivors include a daughter Velma Adkins of the home; a son Delton Sharp of Odessa, Texas; grandchildren, Alma Leigh and David Storey, Sheri and Randy Choate, and Dean and Jamie Adkins, all of Marlow, Dale White of Atlanta, Texas, Denise Chaney, Diane Holloman, and Russell and Nama Sharp, all of Odessa, Della and Dan Pries of Honda, Texas, and Mana and Brett Henderson of Houston, Texas; 15 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Boyd Sharp of Marlow and James Harrell Sharp of Shreveport, La. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Corey Bowman, David Story, Dean Adkins, Russell Sharp, Dale White, Randy Choate and Bret Henderson. Kennetth Cooper served as honarary bearer. According to the family, memorial contributions may be made to the Chisholm Trail Hospice.
