All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Marlow Review Edith "Lois" (Copeland) Sorrels Edith "Lois" (Copeland) Sorrels, 81, passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, in Tuttle. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Airport Assembly of God in Oklahoma City with the Rev. Kenneth Stafford officiating and the Rev. Ladonna Grissom giving the Eulogy. Burial was held at 4 p.m. in the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway- Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Born Nov. 5, 1923, to Joseph and Bernittia (South) Copeland in Cotton County, she enjoyed cake decorating, yard work, rock collecting, and decorating for Christmas. On May 1, 1981, she married Donald Edward Sorrels, Sr, in Marlow. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Vowell; four sisters, Tinia Copeland, Nina Copeland, Juanita Kiddy, and Vera Copeland; six brothers, Carroll Copeland, Joseph W. Copeland, Jr., Oral Copeland, Oliver Copeland, Haskell Copeland and Mancel Copleand; a grandson, Craig Taylor and a granddaughter, Jonna M. Sparks. Survivors in addition to her husband Donald, of the home include; three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Brenda Sorrels, Jr. of Marlow, Alvin and Sondra Sorrels of Sugarland, Texas and Richard and Billie Sorrels of Marlow; three daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta and Ed Chavis of Burkburnett, Texas, Janet and Jim Rumbaugh of Tuttle and Nancy and Roger Sparks of Marlow; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Other survivors include, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Alexia Copeland of Ardmore and Kenneth and Minnie Copeland of Durant; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Era Vantine of Marlow and Lavonna and Charlie Rush of Elmore City.
