Tugman, Sr. Lifelong area resident George E. Tugman, Sr. 62, passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at the V.A. Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday Dec. 30, 2002, at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Elder H. O. Ballard officiating. Burial was held in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Grady County. Born March 21, 1940, to Fred and Jonnie Elsie (Phelps) Tugman in Lawton, he was a mechanic for the Family Dollar Distribution Center and was a veteran of the Army. Tugman attended Lawton Schools and loved old cars, out door activities and camping. On March 16, 1963, he married Virginia Ellen Cook in Boston, MA. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers Benny Tugman, J. T. Williams, Ray Tugman, and Zane Tugman and a sister Rachel Satterfield. Survivors in addition to his wife Virginia of the home include two daughters Julia Stuckwish of Duncan and Denisa Wilson of Grapevine, TX; three sons George E. Tugman, Jr., and wife Belinda of Comanche, Matt E. Tugman and wife Cheri of Ft. Worth, TX and Randall E. Tugman of Locust Grove; and thirteen grandchildren. Other survivors include three brothers Buster Hatmaker of Tahlequah, Frank Tugman of DeQueen, AR and Merrill Tugman of Eugene, OR, and two sisters Bonniie Tugman of Eugene, OR and Nellie Garrett of Fresno, CA. Serving as pallbearers were George E. Tugman, Jr., Matt E. Tugman, Randall E. Tugman, Chris Beck, David Cook and Bobby Joe Cook.
