He was born November 9, 1922 in Duncan (Stephens Co.,) Oklahoma to Pearl Holmes and Phillip Sheridan Thompson. He was employed as an entertainer, musician and writer. He was a songwriter, and played piano, drums, guitar, and the bass. He lived in Illinois, California, Washington, Nevada, and Oregon. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jackie and Dale Salisberry of Moline, IL, and Apache Junction, Ariz., Phyllis and Ivan Rice of Wright City, Mo., and Tricia Morgan of Seal Rock (Lincoln Co.); two sons and a daughter-in-law, Phillip and Joyce Huggart of Port Byron, IL, and Craig Cunniff of Moreno Valley, California; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Victor Courtois of Winston; a nephew and his wife, Bill and Margie Evans if Visalia, California; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and his caregiver, Dick Luchs of Las Vegas, Novada. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, David Churchill of Moline, IL. Disposition was by cremation. --------------------------------------------------------------------
