He had worked in the oil fields in Oklahoma for 25 years. He was active in the Council of Petroleum Accountants Society. He was a member of the Douglas Boulevard United Methodist Church. He married Ruth Etta Williams Nov.15 1949 in Marlow. Survivors include his wife of the home, a son, Byron Richard Thompson of Tulsa, a daughter and son-in-law Melody Ann and Guy R. Benson of Oklahoma City, four grandsons, David Dwayne Thompson, Eric Scott Thompson, Sean Dustin Thompson and Ian M. Benson, a granddaughter, Desiree Keli Thompson and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a son Dale Dwayne Thompson. Funeral services were held in the Douglas Boulevard United Methodist Church with Burial in the Marlow Cemetery. --------------------------------------------------------------------
