All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Trachtenberg, Leona Leona Trachtenberg died on Monday, August 12, 2002, in Englewood, New Jersey. Born in Warsaw, Poland on November 20, 1917, to Mania and Jacob Zagraniczna, she came to the United States in 1938, and lived with her adoptive family, the Raizen, in Duncan, OK, to finish high school. She married the late Morris Trachtenberg, and they settled in Seminole, OK in 1941. She was active in the Seminole County Mental Health Association, Sorosis Club, PTA, Hospital volunteer, and breast cancer awareness campaign. She was preceded in death by her son, Leonard Trachtenberg, and her two sisters, Tamara and Sarenka, who perished with their mother in the Warsaw Ghetto. She is survived by her children, Marcia & Bruce Strongwater, of Englewood, New Jersey, Dan & Ellen Trachtenberg, of Houston, TX, Sylvia Trachtenberg, of OKC; by her grandchildren, Randy & Yvette Trachtenberg, Mark and Stefanie Trachtenberg, David Trachtenberg, Barry Trachtenberg, Leslie Strongwater, and Candice Strongwater; and great grandchildren, Taylor Trachtenberg, Megan Trachtenberg, Brandon Trachtenberg, and Jacob Trachtenberg, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Hahn Cook Funeral Home in OKC on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Contributions may be made to the Englewood Hospital Hospice, 75 Demarest Ave., Englewood, NJ 07631, to the Israel Emergency Fund of the Jewish Federation, or to a charity of choice.
