All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Walters Cemetery--Walters OK Duncan Banner 01 May 2003 Carl Edward Thurman Carl Edward Thurman, of Duncan went home to join the Lord on Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at the age of 60. Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Craig Christina officiating. Burial will be in Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home of Walters. The family will be receiving visitors from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the house, four miles west on Bois D'Arc, third house south on 74th Street. Carl Edward was born Dec. 12, 1942, in Grandfield, to Clifford L. and Susie L. Thurman. He married Glenda Kaye Glasgow on Nov. 22, 1962, in Temple. They later moved to Duncan where Carl was employed at Halliburton Services for 37 years, prior to retiring. Mr. Thurman was a member of First Baptist Church. He had a great love of fishing and camping, which he and Glenda have enjoyed for several years since his retirement. They were active members of Excel Camping Club and enjoyed their travels. Carl loved his two children, Cliff and Stephanie, very much. During their childhood he was involved in coaching their little league sports. He has continued this love of children and sports through his four grandchildren. Survivors include his wife; a son, Cliff, and his wife, Dawn, of Edmond; a daughter, Stephanie, and her husband, Monty Howell; a brother, Alvin Thurman, and his wife, Margaret; a sister-in-law, Vivian Thurman; four grandchildren, Cory and Courtney Howell and Jessica and Tyler Thurman; and many other friends and relatives. Bearers will be Cory Howell, Tyler Thurman, Gary Jack Thurman, Clint Thurman, Glendell Cole and Mike Morris. Honorary bearers are Marvin Harring, Boyd Montgomery, H.D.
