She married James Oscar Vinson in Duncan on Dec. 24 1930. She retired from teaching in the Duncan area in 1969. She was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Myna Jacobs of Thousand Oaks CA, and Ruth Quick of Gulf Hammock Fla., sons, James Vinson of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Eddie Vinson of Ft. Worth TX, four granddaughters, Paula Giacinto of Simi Valley CA, Pamela Ellis of St. Paul Minn., Nancy Ruth Ellison of Gulf Hammock, and Melissa Barnes of Norman, three grandsons, John Ellis of San Bruno CA, Jeff Vinson of Norman, and Todd Vinson of Chandler, four great- granddaughters, Susan Arevalo of Vicenza Italy, Katie Giacinto of St. Paul Minn, Katie Ellison of Gulf Hammock, and Mattie Vinson of Chandler., three great-grandsons, James Ellis and Sean Ellis of Simi Valley CA and Taylor Vinson of Norman., and great-great-grandson Adan Arevalo, Jr. of Italy. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 21 194 in Duncan and her parents. Funeral services were held in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Winston Curtis officiating.
