Pioneer Area Resident Dies   # 5069

William Joseph Wheat, 78, a lifetime resident of Stephens County, died
about 11:00 a.m. today in a local hospital. He was  a retired Oil Field
worker. Funeral Arrangements are pending. They will be announced by the
Carter Funeral Home. Survivors include three sons, Boyce, Westminister,
Calif.; William J. Wheat, Jr, Tulsa; and Jack, Washington, D.C.; five
daughters, Mrs Edgar Smith, Duncan Route 4, Mrs. Ira Gill, Westminster; Mrs
Morene Newhouse, Santa Ana, Calif.; Mrs. W.C. Taylor, Oklahoma City; and
Mrs. Harvey Mason, Jacksonville; two brothers, Silas, Quincy, Calif., and
Virgil, Marietta three sisters, Mrs. Iva Cox and Mrs. Ora Posey, both of
Fox; and Mrs. Jenny Coffee, Washington, and 27 grandchildren.
