All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Duncan Banner 20 Aug 2002 Glenn Edwin Wood Sr. MARLOW — Glenn Edwin Wood Sr., 80, of Marlow died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at Duncan Regional Hospital. Death was sudden, and his daughters were by his side. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Mr. Wood was born Jan. 3, 1922, at Waggoner, Ill., to Charles and Ethel Wood. He married Minnie Mae Ewing in 1949 in Kentucky. She preceded him in death on March 6, 1997. Formerly of Bloomington, Minn., Mr. Wood graduated from high school at Waggoner, and he was a resident of Marlow since 1979. Mr. Wood was a handyman for 17 years at Hop & Sack in Marlow. He was a veteran of the Army/Air Force, and served as a mechanic in World War II. He enjoyed yard work, woodwork and loved baseball and attending the Senior Citizens’ Center. He is survived by two daughters, Glennda Edwin Henderson of Spotsylvania, Va., and Donna M. Hurrle of Burnsville, Minn.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Wood was also preceded in death by his son, Glenn Wood Jr., in October 1998, and by his parents. The family will meet at the home, 1714 Brendon Ave., Marlow.
