Lela Belle Whitehead

CLARENDON - Lela Belle Whitehead, 80, died Saturday, July 31, 1999.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church of 
Clarendon with Dr. James Bell, former pastor, officiating. Burial with 
Eastern Star graveside rites will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo 
by Robertson Funeral Home of Clarendon.

Mrs. Whitehead was born in Marlow, Okla., and lived in Amarillo until 
moving to Howardwick in 1977. A homemaker, she was a member of the 
Clarendon Order of Eastern Star No. 6 and First United Methodist Church of 
Clarendon. She moved to Clarendon in 1998.

She married Lawrence Lee Whitehead in 1961 at Tucumcari, N.M. He died in 
1997.

Survivors include two stepdaughters, Judy Burns of Lincoln, R.I., and 
Donna Kelley of Norfolk, Va.; four step-grandchildren; and a step-great-
grandchild.
