All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Duncan Banner 8 Aug 2002 Ossie Alice Billington Wells Ossie Alice Billington Wells, 94, a longtime Duncan resident, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2002, in Duncan Regional Hospital. Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in New Hope Baptist Church West with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bailes-Polk Funeral Home of Duncan. Mrs. Wells was born Sept. 18, 1907, in Doyle to Bee and Rosa Burton Hunt. She married Lester Billington in July 1922, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1959. She later married Raymond Wells in December 1965, and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1985. Mrs. Wells came to Duncan in 1929 from the Gatlin area. She was a longtime active member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Monroe Billington of Ruidoso, N.M., and Marvin Billington of Ponca City; two sisters, Nettie Conklin of Dexter, N.M., and Eunice Bailey of Lubbock, Texas; two brothers, Bill Hunt of Oklahoma City, and Herbert Hunt of Coleman, Texas; two granddaughters which she raised, Reta Stanton of Stillwater, and Janie Roach of Duncan; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters; one sister; three brothers; and a grandson. Bearers will be Jess Thomas, B.B. Coffman, Clinton Murphree, Bill Wolf, Gerald Burk, Toby Davis and Bill Headrick. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church West Building Fund, 5450 W.
