Williams David Ashley Williams, 87, of Yuba City died Oct. 1, 2006, at his residence. Born in Duncan, Okla., he was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 38 years. He worked as a secretary for the Yuba-Sutter Farm Bureau for 16 years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, assigned to the 449th Flying Tigers Squadron in China, and the Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring as a colonel. His memberships included the American Legion, Retired Officers Association and the China, Burma, India, Hump Pilot Association. In addition, he was a member of Crossroads Community Church and the Hobbs Masonic Lodge in Hobbs, N.M. Survivors include three sons, Stephen Williams of Sutter, James Williams of San Diego and David Williams of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Betty Ann Russell of Oak Grove, La., Jean Nelson of Tucson, Ariz., and Shirley Trollinger of Shawnee, Okla.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Montie R. Williams, and a brother, Herbert Williams. Donations may be made to Sutter North Hospice, 826 Fourth St., Marysville, CA 95901. Services: Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City. A graveside service is at 1 p.m. Friday at Sutter Cemetery, 7200 Butte Ave., Sutter. Pastor Jim Clark of Crossroads Community Church will officiate, with military honors provided by the Beale Air Force Base honor guard.
