Wright VELMA - Macklin B. Wright, 76, a lifelong area resident, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at Duncan Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Baptist Church in Velma with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will be in the Claud Cemetery under the direction of the Alexander-Roberts Funeral Home in Ratliff City. He was born March 20, 1926, in Stephens County to Mack Adam and Flossie Florence McDowell Wright, who preceded him in death. He married Lillie Dean Lynn on Aug. 1, 1946, in Duncan. Mr. Wright was a lifelong resident of the Claud and Velma area, where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was also a lifelong oilfield worker, who retired from Pool Well Servicing Co. of Velma in 1988 as a pusher. He loved hunting, fishing, playing dominoes and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Linda Wright of Velma; three daughters and sons-in-law, Liz and Dave Brenneis of Bray, Carolyn and Steven Vinson of Davis, and Melissa and Johnnie Rubrecht of Loco; one sister, Camilla Bryant of Velma; two brothers and their wives, C.T. and Opal Wright of Alma, and Mallie and Francis Wright of Velma; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
