All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Elmhurst Cemetery--Guymon OK Guymon Daily Herald Mary Aurelia Alvarez FORT WORTH Mary Aurelia Alvarez, 85, a longtime area resident, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital in Fort Worth. Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Guymon, led by Deacon Joe Cruz. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, also at St. Peter's, with Father Anthony Rajram, celebrant. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery under the direction of Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. ========= Alvarez, Mary Guymon Daily Herald FORT WORTH Mary Alvarez, 85, longtime area resident, passed away Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at the Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital in Fort Worth. The daughter of Geronimo and Marcelina (Sanchez) Velarde, Maria Aurelia Velarde was born on Feb. 21, 1922, in Durango, Colo. Mary and James Hipolito Alvarez were united in marriage on Nov. 23, 1940, in Las Animas, Colo. The Alvarez family moved to Boise City in 1943 and to Guymon in 1977. At the time of her death, Mary was living in Fort Worth, so she could be near her children. Mary was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Aurelia Cecilia Velarde; her husband, James on Jan. 21, 2001; three daughters, Mary Ann Alvarez, Regina Alvarez and Susie McElroy; and one grandson, Troy Harris. Survivors include three daughters, Marcey and her husband, Dave Burkett of Granbury, Texas; Sara and her husband, Gary Etherton of Fort Worth; and Alice Schwindt of Amarillo; one son, Robert Alvarez of Norman; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and one sister, Ruby Martinez of Tehachapi, Calif. Rosary will be recited Thursday, March 1 at 7 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Guymon, led by Deacon Joe Cruz. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Friday, March 2 at 10 a.m. also at St. Peter's with Father Anthony Rajram, Celebrant.
