Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery with James Peach, minister of First Baptist Church of Vega, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Baker was born in Williamson County, Ill., and was a longtime resident of Amarillo. During World War II, he served in the Army. He retired as foreman of the Randall County road department. He was a member of the South Lawn Baptist Church and the San Jacinto Lodge No. 1330. He married Dorothy Weaver In 1944. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Baker, in 1964. Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven Baker of Amarillo; a daughter, Linda Sutton of Guymon, Okla.; a brother, Melvin Baker of Portales, N.M.; three sisters, Opal Ware of Morton, Florence Boyce of Lubbock and Jean Kelly of Richardson; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176. The body will be available for viewing from 8 a.m. until noon today at the funeral home.
