Emil H. Berg

GUYMON, Okla. - Emil H. Berg, 89, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Assembly of God Church with the 
Rev. Billy Martin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery 
by Henson-Novak Directors of Guymon.

Mr. Berg was born in Beresford, S.D. The Berg family pioneered to Texas 
County in 1913, homesteading near Goodwell. He retired in 1984 as a farmer 
and also was employed by the Henry C. Hitch Ranch for over 25 years. He was 
a member of the First Assembly of God Church.

He married Helen Mae Phifer in 1934 at Guymon.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Leota Marcetas Zimlich of Bells, 
Texas; four sons, Kenneth Wayne Berg of Broomfield, Colo., Melvin Eugene 
Berg of Westminster, Colo., Leon Gilbert Berg of Guymon and Gail Lynn Berg 
of Carrollton, Texas; two sisters, Grace Rock and Clara Byers, both of 
Guymon; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great 
grandchildren.
