Emil H. Berg

GUYMON, Okla. - Emil H. Berg, 89, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 1998.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Assembly of God Church with the 
Rev. Billy Martin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst 
Cemetery by Henson-Novak Directors of Guymon.

Mr. Berg was born in Beresford, S.D. The Berg family pioneered to Texas 
County in 1913, homesteading near Goodwell. He retired in 1984 as a farmer 
and also was employed by the Henry C. Hitch Ranch for over 25 years. He 
was the member of the First Assembly of God Church.

He married Helen Mae Phifer in 1934 at Guymon.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Leota Marcetas Zimlich of Bells, 
Texas; four sons, Kenneth Wayne Berg of Broomfield, Colo., Melvin Eugene 
Berg of Westminster, Colo., Leon Gilbert Berg of Guymon and Gail Lynn Berg 
of Carrollton, Texas; two sisters, Grace Rock and Clara Byers, both of 
Guymon; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-
grandchildren.
