Bartlett, 80, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Moffat Cemetery with James Haney officiating. Arrangements are by Sheffield Funeral Home of Temple. Mr. Bartlett was born Aug. 8, 1921, in West Plains, Mo., to James Lon Bartlett and Mary Jane Robinson. He married Mary J. Allman on Oct. 11, 1951, in Clovis, N.M. He was a retired judge in Amarillo and served as patrolman, captain, assistant chief of police and chief of police in Hereford, Borger, Guymon, Okla., and Amarillo. He served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a life member of VFW Post No. 1820 in Temple and was a Mason. He was a member of Church of Christ. He lived in Amarillo for 20 years before moving to Little River 16 years ago. Survivors include his wife; a son, James L. Bartlett of Amarillo; three daughters, Rosemary Jane Cordova of Tularosa, N.M., Diane Kohl of Green Bay, Wis., and Pamela S. Bartlett of Little River; a sister, Helen Jane Capece of San Pablo, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.
