All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Amarillo Globe News 20 May 1997 Emma Viola Conger GUYMON, Okla. - Emma Viola Conger, 87, a longtime Texas County resident, died Sunday, May 18, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Henson-Novak Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Richard T. Powell officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Mrs. Conger was born in Okeene and raised in the Enid area. She married Floyd Conger in 1929 at Drummond. After their marriage, they moved to the Eva community where they farmed for many years. In 1977 they moved to Guymon. She was a member of the James Church of God and had attended the Church of the Nazarene in Guymon since 1977. Mr. Conger died in 1987. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Lavake of Guymon and Arletta Shores of Eva; two sons, Charles Conger of Independence, Mo., and Dennis Conger of Andover, Kan.; three sisters, Nell Gardner of Phoenix, Mary Alice Weisner of Vallejo, Calif., and Bertha Reyner of Redding, Calif.; two brothers, Lester Myers of Arkansas and Bill Myers of Guymon; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and until service time Wednesday. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. An Emma Conger Memorial has been established for the Dunaway Manor.
