All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Elmhurst Cemetery--Guymon OK Amarillo Globe News 11 Nov 1997 Eddie Lee Countryman GUYMON, Okla. - Eddie Lee Countryman, 76, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Mr. Countryman was born in Calumet, Okla. He served in the Marines and later in the Army during World War II. He married Bertie Brownell in 1944 at Enid. They made their home in El Paso, Texas. After his military career, they moved to Fairview, Okla. They moved to Guymon in 1947. Mr. Countryman worked for Nash Bros. Automotive for 38 years, ending his career as the service manager. He was a volunteer firefighter for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Association of Firefighters. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Roberta Jean. Survivors include his wife; his stepmother, Faith Countryman of Fresno, Calif.; a son, Robert Countryman of Houston; four daughters, Donna Lee Goodson of Little Rock, Ark., Peggy Joyce Sargent of Grandview, Mo., Ruth Elaine Richardson of Wheatland, Mo., and Patricia Jean Shaw of Amarillo; a brother, Clifford Countryman of Caldwell, Kan.; a half brother, Jerry Countryman of San Jose, Calif.; a half sister, Marie of Fresno; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Guymon Fire Department or First Church of the Nazarene.
