Amarillo Globe News 26 Nov 1997 Irene A. Crawford HARDESTY, Okla. - Irene A. Crawford, 85, a former Hardesty resident, died Monday, Nov. 24, 1997, in Enid. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Hooker with the Rev. Rich Redinger and Eddy Scoggins officiating. Burial will be in Hartville Cemetery at Hardesty by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home of Hooker. Mrs. Crawford was born and raised in Hardesty and attended school there. She made her home in the Hardesty and Hooker area for 81 years before moving to Hooker in 1981. She moved to Fairview in 1993. She married Orley Crawford in 1930 at Guymon. He died in 1979. Mrs. Crawford was a member of United Brethren Church in Hardesty and later attended Apostolic Faith Church in Hardesty. While in Hooker, she attended First Baptist Church. She later attended First United Methodist Church in Fairview. Survivors include a daughter, Ilene Van Meter of Fairview; three sons, Corky Crawford of Hooker, DeWayne Crawford of Springfield, Ill., and Rex Crawford of Woodward; two brothers, Emmitt Hughey of Guymon and Stanley McKinley of Hooker; three stepsisters, Katherine Presley of Rolla, Kan., June Elliott of Amarillo and Georgia Mae Cobble of San Angelo; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The family requests memorials be to the Hartville Cemetery Fund.
