All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Renna Cooper Davis HOOKER, Okla. - Renna Cooper Davis, 95, of Liberal, Kan., died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Western Avenue Church of Christ in Liberal with Glen Walton and Neville Buchanan officiating. A second service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Frederick Church of Christ in Frederick. Burial will be in Frederick Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home of Hooker. Mrs. Davis was born in Silverton, Texas and graduated from high school in Electra, Texas in 1924. She attended business college in Wichita Falls, Texas. She worked as a stenographer and later worked for 27 years for the Soil Conservation Service in Fort Worth. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Western Avenue Church of Christ and the Hospital Auxiliary at Southwest Medical Center, both in Liberal. She was the first president of the Fort Worth Fireman's Auxiliary. Her first marriage was in 1928 to Thomas Albert Harrison at Electra. He died in 1954. Her second marriage was to Arthur Page Davis in 1957 at Electra. He died in 1979. She also was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Sheila Gould. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Gloria Overbey of Montridge, Tenn., and Merry Weatherby of Hardesty; seven grandchildren; and 16 great- grandchildren. Visitation will be from noon until time of service today in Liberal and from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday in Frederick. The family suggests memorials be to Renna Davis Memorial Fund and may be left with Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.
