Arnold Evans, 88, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Henson-Novak Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Fox and the Rev. Billy Martin, minister of Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Mrs. Evans was born and raised near Hardesty and attended Meadowview School. After her first marriage, she farmed and ran cattle in Hardesty then later moved to Guymon. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Guymon. She married Richard Evans in 1987. Her first marriage was to James Arnold in 1929 at Guymon. He died in 1982. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Duronda, and a son, Butch. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Anna Maye Sowa of Sunnyside, Wash.; two sons, Jim Arnold Jr., of Littleton, Colo., and Danny Manning of Laverne; two sisters, Goldie Stump of Guymon and Vera Paries of Delta, Colo.; a brother, Dean Randles of Hardesty; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. An Alpha Evans Memorial has been established for the Ronald McDonald House in Amarillo. Memorials may be accepted at Henson-Novak Funeral Home, Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
