All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Elrod, Hubert Kermit Hubert Kermit Elrod, 87, Guymon businessman, passed away early Wednesday, February 12, 2003, at his home. The son of Nellie (Cobb) and Will Elrod, he was born March 15, 1915, in Westminster, South Carolina. He attended and graduated from University of Colorado in 1938 and was united in marriage to Helen Long, on September 3, 1939, in Guymon. Mrs. Helen Elrod passed away January 30, 1998. As a World War II Veteran, he served in the United States Navy. Mr. Elrod was a founder and partner in the T.E.L. Oil and Gas Corporation. He was an active member of the First Christian Church and the Guymon Masonic Lodge, #335, the Panhandle Shrine Club, India Temple and the Royal Order of Jesters. He was united in marriage to D.K. Elrod, on March 15, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, brothers and sisters, Floyd Elrod, William Porter Elrod, Clymealure Elrod Easton, Ponseller Elrod Boggs and Kathryn Elrod. Survivors include his wife, D.K. Elrod of Guymon; one sister, Ethel and Fred Davison; one brother, Bob Elrod; in-laws, Mary and David Long, Lou and Carl McKinnon, and Norman Wilmeth; all of Guymon, and their families. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday afternoon, February 15, 2003, at the First Christian Church with Rev. Don Taylor officiating. Interment will follow with Masonic Rites in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Memorials may be given to Guymon Home Health and Hospice, c/o Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, P.O. Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
