All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Amarillo Globe News 18 April 1998 Fick, Carl William GOODWELL, Okla. - Carl William Fick, 76, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998. Memorial services will be at noon today in St. Paul Lutheran Church at Texhoma with the Rev. Charles Byer officiating. Burial will be in Goodwell Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Mr. Fick was born in Cisco, Texas. He lived his early years in the Shawnee and Agra areas. As a World War II veteran, he served two tours of duty in the Army Air Corps in the European Theater. He received the Bronze Star. After the war, he returned to Borger, Texas, where he was employed at G&G Machine Shop. He married Evelin Lance in 1950 at Phillips, Texas. In 1968, they moved to Perryton, Texas, where he worked for Perryton Service Co. Mr. Fick retired in 1986. They moved to Goodwell, where he farmed and ranched. Mrs. Fick died in 1992. Mr. Fick was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Texhoma and had been active in the Guymon Kiwanis Club. He married Doris Hegwood in 1996 at Texhoma. Survivors include his wife; a son, Daniel Fick of Kim, Colo.; a sister, Pearl Stevens of Agra, Okla.; four brothers, Harold Fick of Borger, Bob Fick of Seattle, Leo Fick of Davenport and Jack Fick of Agra; and a grandson. The family requests memorials be to a Carl Fick Memorial, which has been established for the Lutheran World Ministries. Memorials will be accepted at the church or at Henson-Novak Funeral Home, P.O.
