Goss Sr., 93, died Tuesday, April 13, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Adams Baptist Church at Adams, Okla., with the Rev. John Goss Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery east of Adams by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home of Hooker, Okla. Rev. Goss was born in Indian Territory and was raised in the Asher, Okla., area. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University at Shawnee, Okla. He worked for many years building oil rigs. He became a Baptist minister, serving many different churches. His first church was in Asher, and he later served in Balko, Okla., Texhoma, Okla., and Liberal, Kan. For 28 years he served in the Rolls, Texas, area. On his 90th birthday, he retired as pastor at Estacado, Texas. He married Minnie Maude McCaulley in 1928 at Edmond, Okla. In 1998, they moved to Adams and in September became residents of the Senior Village at Perryton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ethel Marie Beckham. Survivors include his wife; a son, the Rev. John Goss Jr. of Adams; a brother, James Ernest Goss of Broken Arrow, Okla.; four sisters, Mattie Rich of Stockton, Calif., Elsie Worden and Lois Huddleston, both of Purcell, Okla., and Leona Badget of Lindsey, Okla.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Senior Village in Perryton, or Gideon's International, c/o Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.
