Leticia Sanchez Garcia

HOOKER, Okla. - Leticia Sanchez Garcia, 97, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 1997, in 
Liberal, Kan.

Wake services were at 7 p.m. Monday in Roberts Brothers Funeral Home with 
Leo Hulm officiating. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Murphy officiating. Burial will be 
in Hooker Cemetery.

Mrs. Garcia was born in Juan de Dios, N.M. She was a legal heir to the 
Atrisco Land Grant of 1692.

She married Geronimo Garcia in 1919 at Cuervo. They moved to Guymon before 
making their home in Hooker in 1941. Mr. Garcia died in 1978. She also was 
preceded in death by a son, Marcos Garcia.

Mrs. Garcia was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar 
Society.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruby Fast and Sadie Fief, both of Hooker; 
11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-
grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church 
building fund or a favorite charity. Memorials may be left at Roberts 
Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Okla. 73945.
