He was born May 30, 1914 in Hooker, Oklahoma the son of William and Mary Susan Kraft Mangold. He married Betty Ruth Poole on December 4, 1959 in Loveland, Colorado. She preceded him in death on September 25, 1997. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior in 1939 after hearing a radio broadcast of The Old Time Gospel Hour featuring Charles E. Fuller as speaker. Before God's calling on his life he was a farmer in Kansas. Thomas pastored local independent Baptist churches in Kansas, Colorado, Idaho and Utah. He was the first pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Layton. He loved to garden, hunt, fish and spend time with his family. Early on Thomas was a self-taught musician. Surviving are three sons, Cliff(Carrie)Grossman, Eagle, ID; Larry Grossman, Boise, ID; Michael(Jeanne)Grossman, Meridian, ID; daughter, Tamera(David) Ellis, Las Veg as, NV; ten grandchildren and ! ten great-grandchildren and his best friend Sheba. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, seven brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 1, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Faith Baptist Church, 2430 No. Fairfield Road, Layton. Friends and family may call Monday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
