Amarillo Globe News 14 Nov 1997 Sada C. Hoskins SPEARMAN - Sada C. Hoskins, 99, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. B.L. Davis officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Hoskins was born in Vandalia, Mo. She had lived in the Spearman area since 1926, moving from Texhoma, Okla. She attended Holy Names College in Seattle and received a teaching degree from Oklahoma Normal Teachers College in Alva, Okla., in 1918. She taught kindergarten in Spearman for several years in the 1960s. She was the Hansford County Clerk from 1958 to 1962. She married Fred John Hoskins in 1920 at Texhoma. He died in 1958. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Vera Beth Thompson, in 1989. Mrs. Hoskins was a homemaker and a member of Order of the Eastern Star No. 721 in Spearman. She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Dahlia Flower Club and the Spearman China Painters Women's Missionary Union. She was a charter member of the Twentieth Century Club. Survivors include four daughters, Frances Kilgore and Joann Lee, both of Spearman, Sada Ruth Long of Bartlesville, Okla., and Winifred Hester of Texline; a son, Fred J. Hoskins Jr. of Hurricane, W.Va.; 17 grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the First Baptist Church music department, 123 S.
