All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Kathryn May Funk Holland GUYMON, Okla. - Kathryn May "Kappy" Funk Holland, 89, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Elmhurst Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Jamieson officiating. Arrangements are by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mrs. Holland was born and raised in Guymon. She worked at the American and Royal theatres, which her parents owned and operated. She graduated from Guymon High School in 1926 and from Oklahoma Panhandle State University. She attended Oklahoma City University, where she studied dance and reigned as Miss Oklahoma. She taught elementary school in California after her marriage to Homer Holland. After returning to Guymon, she owned and operated Kappy's School of Dance for many years. In Guymon, she and her husband were in the dry cleaning business for many years, where she did alterations. She was a member of the Guymon Assembly of God Church. Survivors include a son, Mike Holland; three granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to The Gideons to purchase Bibles.
