Hampton, 62, of Liberal, Kan., a former Guymon resident, died Friday, July 18, 1997, in Wichita, Kan. Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Smith of Turpin Methodist Church officiating. Mr. Hampton was born in Wallace, Ark. As a young man, he helped his family in the timber business building furniture. In 1958, he moved to Guymon and worked for Hitch Farms and later drove trucks for various firms. He retired in 1973 after 32 years of driving. In 1973, he began working for Gibson's in Guymon and worked there for eight years. He married Peggy Peabody in 1968 at Alamosa, Colo. Survivors include his wife; three brothers, Odell Hampton of Amarillo, Odean Hampton of Turpin and Tim Hampton of California; and two sisters, Martha Lewis of Oklahoma City and Bobbie Smart of Guymon. The family suggests memorials be for family use. They may be left at Bunch- Roberts Funeral Home, Box 1112, Guymon, Okla. 73942.
