He was born in Guymon, Oklahoma, graduated in the class of 1950, earned degrees from the University of Kansas, and Arizona State University, and served four years in the U.S. Air Force. After completing a successful 29 year career in education in Arizona, he became a word traveler, visiting 40 foreign countries between 1995 and 2004. He was organist of the First Presbyterian Church in Guymon, OK for four years and organist of St. Mark?s Episcopal Church in Mesa, AZ for 12 years. He was prededed in death by his beloved wife, Shirley. He is survived by daughters Kim Picard and Carol Mueller, both of Phoenix, sister Carol Hunt, sister-in-law Gwen Huit, and nephew Tim, all of Denver, CO, two granddaughters, Bonnie and Roseann, of Wisconsin, and close friend, Dean Graunke, of Sun City, AZ.
