"Doc" Hamilton, 80, died Sunday, April 21, 2002, in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Texhoma St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Texhoma Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home. Mr. Hamilton was born Dec. 30, 1921, in Nixa, Mo., to Charles and Virginia Maybry Hamilton. He served in the Army from Nov. 17, 1942, to Sept. 27, 1945. During his service he received the Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Purple Heart for wounds received in the European Theater, Nov. 19, 1944. He moved to Texhoma from Pierce City, Mo., in 1972. He married Audrey Lindorfer Hackler on Aug. 19, 1983, in Raton, N.M. He worked as a myologist and reflexologist and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and American Massage Therapist Association. Pallbearers will be Jess Smith, Mertis Vail, Mike Tanquary, Jerry Harland, Randy Alexander and Raymond Tanquary. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and a sister. Survivors include his wife; a son, G.E. Hamilton of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two stepsons, Tom Hackler of Texhoma and Michael Hackler of Enid; two stepdaughters, Lanetta Montgomery of Texhoma and Barbara Matthews of Stratford, Texas; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family suggests memorials be to St. Paul Lutheran Church; Texhoma Cemetery; or a favorite charity. Amarillo Globe-News, April 25, 2002
