All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Amarillo Globe News 2 Sep 1998 Howard Richardson Harris GUYMON, Okla. - Howard Richardson Harris, 75, died Monday, Aug. 31, 1998. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Maynard of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Family burial will be in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Mr. Harris was born in Lebanon, Tenn., and moved to Guymon in 1990 from DeRidder, La. He served in the Army during World War II and the Vietnam War. While serving in the Army, he was honored with the following decorations and citations: Overseas Service Bar, American Campaign Medal, Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze service stars. He was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Morris of Germantown, Md.; a son, Alan Wells of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, William Clarence Harris of Newton, Kan.; five sisters, Ruby Grice of Hardesty, Gladys Cole of DeRidder, Joy Smith and Marcille Conner, both of Guymon and Jan Ballard of VanAlstyne, Texas; special friend, Juanita Munz of Guymon; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and Affiliates or a favorite charity c/o Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
