Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Texhoma Cemetery. Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church with David White, pastor, and Harold James officiating. Arrangements are by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was born north of Texhoma on Aug. 4, 1915. He married Dorothy Roots on Dec. 25, 1936. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Johnson of Grayson, Ga.; a daughter, Georgia Davidson of Gruver, Texas; a brother, Buss Johnson of Texhoma; a sister, Millie Humphrey of Reseda, Calif.; three granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren. The family suggests memoriasl be to Texhoma Cemetery, or a favorite charity. Arrangements are by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was born north of Texhoma on Aug. 4, 1915, to Hermit Harvey ³H.H. Sr.² and Edith Sweet Johnson. He was a lifelong resident of Texhoma where he farmed and ranched for many years. Squidge and Dorothy Roots were married on Dec. 25, 1936. They were blessed with three children, Georgia, Patricia and Robert. Squidge accepted the Lord as his Savior in 1942. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Texhoma where he had served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and chairman of the building committee when the current structure was built. He served for many years as a member of the executive advisory committee at the Baptist Student Union at Panhandle State University and was fortunate to be a member when their present building was constructed. He will be remembered as a generous man with a quick wit which he often used. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather as well as a friend to many people in the area, including numerous students that attended Panhandle State. Pallbearers will be Adam Cline, Mike Cline, Ralph Hyde, David Moore, Caleb Cline, John Hursey, Gordon Moore, Jack Johnson, Jesse Johnson, David Johnson and Courtney Moore He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Patricia; a brother, Harold Johnson; and a sister, Maxine Hisey. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Johnson and wife, Rena, of Grayson, Ga.; a daughter, Georgia Davidson and husband, Fred, of Gruver, Texas; a brother, Buss Johnson and wife, Esther, of Texhoma; a sister, Millie Humphrey of Reseda, Calif.; three granddaughters, Misha Moore and husband, Gordon, of Goodwell, Milinda Cline and husband, Mike, of Liberal, Kan., and Tammy Hursey and husband, John, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; eight great-grandchildren, Adam Cline, David Moore, Courtney Moore, Caleb Cline, Zachary Hursey, Austin Hursey, Joseph Hursey and Nathan Hursey; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
