"Tom" Johnson, 82, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Assembly of God with the Rev. Shannon Davis of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by HensonNovak Funeral Directors. Mr. Johnson was born in Citra and spent his early years near Ada. He worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps in Sentinel. He married Margaret Rich in 1940. He served in the Navy during World War II and moved to Guymon in 1951. He worked in construction, real estate, plumbing and agriculture. He was chairman for the Pioneer Day Celebration for more than 10 years. He also was a Guymon Ambassador. Mr. Johnson was a Master Mason of Guymon Masonic Lodge No. 335, AF&AM. He was a Past Master, was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason of the Valley of Guthrie Consistory, and was a member of India Shrine Temple of Oklahoma City. He received his 50-year pin in 1997. He was a member of First Assembly of God. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tom G. Johnson of Alameda, Calif., and Gary Don Johnson of Guymon; a sister, Nola Maloney of Rialto, Calif.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the Lions Club Children's Shopping Spree or Meals On Wheels, both in care of Henson-Novak Funeral Home, Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
