All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Leota Faye Kaufman HOOKER, Okla. - Leota Faye Kaufman, 95, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Cook officiating. Arrangements are by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Kaufman was born in Howard, Kan., where she attended school. She moved to Raton, N.M., where she worked as a legal secretary. She and her husband, Edwin E. Kaufman, owned and operated Kaufman Jewelry Store in Raton. He died in 1980 and she moved to Hooker the same year. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Flynt. Mrs. Kaufman was a seamstress and owned race horses. She was a member of the Hooker United Methodist Church and Garden Club. Survivors include two grandchildren, Billie Sue Jackson of Elkhart, Kan., and Kenny Camp of Raton; and five greatgrandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Morton County Care Center in Elkhart, Kan., in care of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma 73945.
