All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Amarillo Globe News 8 Jul 1998 Mack Kemp GUYMON, Okla. - Mack Kemp, 60, died Tuesday, July 7, 1998, at Oklahoma City. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mr. Kemp was born in Oklahoma City. He attended Oklahoma University and Central State University, where he played football. He began a career in the irrigation business in 1965. He worked for the Valmont Company in Valley, Neb., for several years before moving to Guymon in 1978, purchasing Gigot Irrigation and later changing the name to Gigot Agra Products. Mr. Kemp was instrumental in the development of the center pivot irrigation system in this area. Gigot Agra Products has since opened stores in Hugoton, Kan., and Spearman, Texas. He was actively involved in the Kids Inc. program. He also served as president for the Guymon Booster Club for two years. He was a member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church. He married Jequeta Overfelt in 1963 at Midwest City. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lance Kemp of Spearman and Tyler Kemp of Corpus Christi, Texas; and two brothers, Mike Kemp of Corpus Christi and Kenneth Kemp of Bixby. A Mack Kemp memorial has been established for Kids Inc. The family requests memorials in lieu of flowers be to a Mack Kemp memorial which has been established for Kids Inc. Memorials will be accepted at Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, P.O.
