::Texhoma Cemetery--Texhoma OK

Ethel Jeanette Wilson Knowles

TEXHOMA, Okla. - Ethel Jeanette Wilson Knowles, 82, died Saturday, Oct. 
16, 1999.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church. Burial 
will be in Texhoma Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home.

Mrs. Knowles was born in Texhoma and was a 1933 graduate of Texhoma High 
School. After attending Panhandle College, she received a secretarial 
degree from the Minnesota School of Business. From 1941 until 1945 and 
from 1956 until 1985, she worked for First National Bank of Texhoma and 
retired as vice president after 33 years of service. She was a matron in 
the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Carnation Garden Club and 
First Baptist Church.

She married John "Jerry" Durward Knowles in 1940. She was preceded in 
death by both her husband and a grandson, John Douglas Knowles.

Survivors include two sons, Don Knowles of Bakersfield, Calif., and Gary 
Knowles of Denver; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church of Texhoma; 
Dunaway Manor in Guymon; or a favorite charity.
