All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lois Lucas Long GUYMON, Okla. - Lois Lucas Long, 87, of Prairie Village, Kan., and a former longtime Texas County resident, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Henson-Novak Funeral Home of Guymon. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Peter's Catholic Church by the Rev. Phillip Lindley and the Rev. Scott Adams. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery at Guymon. Mrs. Long was born in Plainview, Texas, and lived in Guymon until 1934 when she married Stephen Lucas. They lived in Scott City, Kan., until his death in 1940. She returned to Guymon and later married George Long of Optima in 1947. They lived in Guymon and Tyrone until they built their home on a farm near Optima. Mr. Long died in 1982. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Guymon, where she was active in PTA and was a 4-H leader for many years. She also was preceded in death by a son, Patrick A. Lucas. Survivors include two daughters, Sally Angel of St. Mary's, Ohio, and Fran Larsen of Woodbridge, Va.; three sons, Stephen Lucas of Baton Rouge, La., George M. Long of Westwood, Kan., and Jim Long of Fullerton, Calif.; a brother, Wendell Grimm of O* City; 19 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
